Toledo's Rian Pearson has been chosen as the StatSheet MAC Player of the Week for the week ending February 6th. And finally, Chris Evans from Kent State is the StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week.
Pearson led the entire MAC in scoring (27.5 pts per game). He also put up huge numbers in both shooting (50%) and rebounding (10 per game). The Toledo sophomore played well for the Rockets in losses to Akron and Buffalo.
Pearson led scoring and rebounding for the Rockets with 29 points and 12 rebounds in an 86-72 loss to Akron. He followed that up with a team-leading 26 points and 8 rebounds in a 72-65 loss to Buffalo.
This is the first time that Rian Pearson has been named the StatSheet MAC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Ohio junior Walter Offutt. Honorable mention goes to our own Scott Thomas.
StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week: Kent State's Chris Evans
Chris Evans, a junior and a 6-7 forward, averaged 28 minutes over two games for the Golden Flashes. In a 67-60 win over Central Michigan, Evans put up 12 points and 4 rebounds. Then in a last-minute 78-73 win against Western Michigan, he racked up 3 blocked shots and 50% shooting.
This makes 4 times that Chris Evans has won the StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week award this season. Quincy Diggs, a junior forward from Akron, is runner up. Our own Torian Oglesby receives honorable mention. Bowling Green has yet to win the StatSheet MAC Player of the Week award this season.
